We contacted DeLonghi and they said it was defective and needed to be returned, which we did. We tried the espresso maker and it didn't work right and then the coffee maker and it didn't inject water completely into the coffee grounds. Overall it was dissappointing to see a company's product quality degrade so significantly. We have had several DeLonghi products including earlier generation combination coffee/espresso machines. When our old machine wore out, we tried this new version.
Can anyone help. They even insisted that the recipes were in the manual while they are not. If you are looking to Delonghi for help, forget it. The owner's manual did not have recipes for either hot chocolate or lattes. We called their customer service and they were zero help.
DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE. The replacement machine began leaking water all over the counter after about 10 months and soon the pump failed again. Since the ORIGINAL purchase has been more than a year ago there is no warranty on this machine. This machine does make good coffee as long as it is working. Our basic plain Jane inexpensive coffee makers have been far more dependable than this rather expensive device. We had our machine for 8 months when the pump in the coffee maker failed. Unfortunately, working is the operative word. DeLonghi replaced the machine since it was still within the warranty period (Save your receipt).
I have replaced every single part of the milk container, regulator, o-rings, tube and nothing worked. I see an uneven gap when I look at it carefully. It makes good coffee and good espresso but it cannot froth milk.
The new machine arrived today and as I tried the frothing, it leaks milk from the top of the red regulator which prevents it from making frothed milk. I didn't intend to pay $145 for just a coffee machine. It seems like the regulator and the seals are not made for this machine.
I purchased this upgrading my previous version which died. I took it there and after over a month he requested a new machine. I have been using DeLonghi for the past 10 years and I bought this model for the automatic frothing system which doesn't work.DO NOT buy this model.
The milk leaks between the o-ring seals of the red regulator where the milk and steam are mixed. I was told to take it to their service center.
Wonderful product for a great price. I enjoy it greatly. I just love this coffee maker. Most surprisingly was the container you take out and fill with water not having to use a Glass Carafe for refill.
